In the Father's Garden

A one-act opera depicting a father and son working harmoniously together in the family garden until mysterious events upset their joyful labors.

David Kirtley is a Colorado based composer. His works have been performed at the 1998 International Shakuhachi Music Festival, the Colorado New Music Festival, the Aspen Music Festival, and at other venues in the U.S. and abroad. His orchestra piece, Leaves falling from the Holy Tree: In Memoriam Nicholas Black Elk, is on volume 9 of the ERM Media CD series, "Masterworks of the New Era".
